The support of the Galician culture has already become for us a matter of principles. Therefore, whenever we can, we collaborate with different events and artistic expressions that expose the cultural richness of our land.
On this occasion, to open the 2016 we will collaborate with the International Festival of Lusophone Cantos Na Maré. The 12th edition of this event will be held on Saturday 16th January at the Pazo da Cultura in Pontevedra from 9:00 pm.
The festival is back with the intention of strengthening relations with connected territories which on this occasion will be Portugal, Brazil and Guinea Bissau. Under the musical direction of Paulo Borges and artistic direction of Uxía, who will be performing together with NARF, they have organized a concert that will be memorable with Jorge Palma, Thaïs Morell, Karyna Gomes and Alceu Valença.
Jorge Palma, Karyna Gomes, Thaïs Morell and Uxía&Narf
This year, the poster is composed by Jorge Palma, one of the pillars of Portuguese rock music, a referent for a whole generation of artists in Portugal; the Brazilian Thaïs Morell, a singer and an exceptional guitarist who mixes the bossa-nova with a great variety of music. Karyna Gomes comes from Guinea Bissau, with her first single, influenced by the traditional music of her country and a mixture of other cultures, gained after having lived in three continents. And two renowned Galician musicians, Uxía & Narf, who gather together to sing the ballads of the imaginary Galicia.
Alceu Valença, last surprise of the Festival Canto na Maré
Cantos na Maré complete the poster with a final surprise- Alceu Valença, one of most transfressive Brazilian artists, who has more than five decades electrifying rhythms of his native Pernambuco, with a great international impact.
