This morning (the 10th of October 2012) the vice-president of the winery, Ramón Barral, signed an agreement of collaboration with the Sociedade de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo with the aim of preserving the cultural patrimony related to the Camino de Santiago and of encouraging this route of pilgrimage.
In the event, besides the vice-president and the director of Bodegas Martín Códax, Juan A. Vázquez Gancedo, were present D. José Paz Gestoso, Sociedade de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo and D. Marcial Rodríguez Suárez also of this society.
With this agreement, the intention of both entities of preserving, restoring and protecting the cultural patrimony created about the Camino de Santiago is confirmed. Bodegas Martín Códax, conscious of the relevance of this route of pilgrimage and of the importance of his promotion, it is also tied up with the Camino de Santiago. Like this, in inverse meaning to that of the pilgrims, Bodegas Martín Códax does the Camino, initiating his trajectory in 1985 into the Rías Baixas of Galicia, for afterwards to be installed in the Bierzo as in the Rioja.
In a moment in which the private initiative is essential for the promotion of the culture in general, this finds an ally in Bodegas Martín Códax.
