Xoves de Códax solidarios

For the second year running, Os Xoves de Códax will earmark the amount of the box office to different charities in the area with the aim of contributing to the welfare of the surrounding community and as part of its social responsibility. Thus, 8 different entities have been chosen to receive those amounts in two different events that will take place in July and August.

The different entities selected are the following:

• Fundación Amigos de Galicia, association invited to the opening concert of Rosa Cedrón and Emilio Rúa.
• Esperanza Salnés, present at the concert of Carmen París and Xavier Díaz on 9 July.
• AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) will accompany us in the show of Banda Crebinsky on 16 July.
• Fundación Andrea, invited to the performance of Orquesta Os Modernos, on 23 July
• Ingada, invited to the concert of O Sonoro Maxín, at the end of July.
• Cáritas, will share the limelight with Guadi Galego on 6 August.
• Solidaridade Galega co Pobo Saharaui, will be invited to enjoy the flamenco of Radio Pesquera on 13 August.
• AFAGA will accompany us to the show of Eliseo Parra and Marcelo Dobode on 20 August.
• Cocina Económica de Santiago will be present at last concert of Os Xoves together with Martirio and Uxía.

ABOUT THE ASSOCIATIONS

 FUNDACIÓN AMIGOS DE GALICIA: 

This foundation carries out projects to cover the basic needs of those people with lack or with limited economic resources. It works for the equality in childhood.

ESPERANZA SALNÉS:

An association for the care of disabled people by offering multidisciplinary services of speech therapy, special-education teachers, physical therapy and psychology.

ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA CONTRA EL CANCER (AECC)

The Spanish Association against Cancer provides care services for people suffering from cancer and their families from a psychosocial perspective. It carries out projects about the community awareness of this disease as its prevention as well as activities covering prevention and health education.

FUNDACIÓN ANDREA:

This foundation supports those children with chronic or long-term illness or terminally ill. Its purpose is the care and the economic, moral and informative support to those families with limited resources that must care for their children.

Ingada: 

Organization that provides assistance services to those people suffering from ADHD and other associated disorders.

CÁRITAS. Diocesana de Santiago de Compostela-Interparroquial de Arousa:

It is an entity that carries out different social activities such as the basic care to those families and people at risk of exclusion from the labour market. It offers soup kitchens, wardrobe, laundry and health services, adult literacy programmes, and home carers for elderly people.

SOLIDARIDADE GALEGA CO POBO SAHARAUI.

This association responds to the needs of planning and progress in the management and implementation of humanitarian aid for Sahrawi refugees that occurs in Galicia in coordination with the Galician Saharawi Delegation.

AFAGA

This organization offers services aimed at improving the quality of life for patients suffering from Alzheimer and their families through workshops, psychological support, legal and social counseling, care at home and information on neurodegenerative diseases.

COCINA ECONÓMICA DE SANTIAGO

It is a private charity, created in 1891 in order to favour and help the indigent and lower class by providing nutritious, healthy and inexpensive food. Its services reach those who claim them at a minimum price and providing education and training to people who lack it.
